Wards Cove

Wards Cove at Lake Union is a floating home community and marina on the east shore of Lake Union in Seattle. The development includes preservation of the original Wards Cove Packing Company office building, renovation of a warehouse-type building as offices, restoration of the shoreline, a public pocket park, and creation of a green street and realignment of Fairview Avenue with rain gardens and sidewalk with shoreline access.  What once was a unique, yet overgrown shoreline hidden behind old boat houses and invasive weeds, is now a unique and fresh streetscape that feels like a linear park, with open views to the lake, easy public access to the shore, and restoration of a native landscape including innovative sustainable stormwater treatments.
