The South Lake Union Discovery Center provides a facility that includes a display of neighborhood history, local business information, and a large-scale model of the neighborhood. It offers meeting rooms, and a large open space for gatherings and events, or presentations.
The project was designed and developed as a green building on an urban site utilizing pervious paving, a vegetative bioswale for stormwater, and drought tolerant adaptive and native plant materials. The building was constructed in a modular form allowing for ease of relocation when future development requires more dense use of the current site.
